The collection at Gulf Islands National Seashore includes rare books, bound books, maps, videotapes, technical and structural reports, photographs, manuscripts, microfilms, as well as oral history and other audiotapes, most of which are available to researchers, students, and the general community.  However, the primary objective of the Gulf Islands National Seashore Library is to select, organize, preserve and make easily accessible books and related materials, which will assist park employees in providing interpretive and information services about life in Pensacola during the Civil War.  Satellite libraries are located at the Naval Live Oaks headquarters and at Fort Barrancas.
