The goal of this organization is to celebrate the evolution of African American history in and around Pensacola.  Established just 10 years ago, the African American Heritage Society sponsors and participates in a variety of events aimed at promoting African American history, tradition, and custom, including a black-history recital and concert at the University of West Florida, arts and cultural events, lectures, and a special black-history luncheon held at Pensacola Naval Air Station.
