- This guide to basic bibliographic tools in the health sciences includes a chapter on
electronic bibliographic databases, and a chapter on audiovisual materials.

categorized groups via Metalib.
To locate journal articles, use the CitationLinker, SFX to search for a specific article,
book or journal. SFX will lead you to the online or print source of the title.
If we do not own, or have access to, a journal you need, you may request it from
Interlibrary Loan.

- Cambridge Scientific Abstracts
- This database service provides access to over 70 Cambridge Scientific databases arranged
under 10 broad categories. Searches may be conducted by database categories, or within
selected databases. The database categories include: Agricultural Sciences, Aquatic
Sciences, Biological and Medical Sciences, Computer Technology, Earth & Environmental
Sciences, Engineering Specialties, Materials Science, Market Research, and the Social
Sciences. Some citations link to full-text journal articles provided by
Science Direct or

- An index to over 300 major journals as well as books and dissertations in nursing and
health. An excellent source for locating journal articles dealing with the treatment of
sports injuries. Published 1956-1976 as a printed index entitled Cumulative Index to
Nursing Literature, and 1977- as Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health
Literature, these titles are available 1956-1997 in the Reference collection (Ref. RT
1 C8).
- ERIC. 1967+ (Cambridge)
and ERIC E*Subscribe. 1966+ (EDRS)
- Comprehensive index to over 800 journals in the field of education as well as over
400,000 research reports on microfiche. Entries include brief abstracts indexed by
subject, author and title. Subject headings used in this index are listed in
the Thesaurus of ERIC Descriptors (Ref. Desk LB 1028 E39 1995) & FWB.
This database is the computerized version of the printed indexes entitled
Current Index to Journals in Education and Resources in
Education.

that allow keyword and name searches for chemical structures, chemical substance records, and bioassay records.

- A comprehensive electronic collection of scholarly science, technology and medicine full text and bibliographic information.
- Wiley Interscience.
- Wiley Interscience includes full text coverage of journals, reference works, and online books in all areas of science.
- Wilson Science Complete.
- Wilson Science Complete is the online version of the General Science Index, Biological and Agricultural Index, and the Applied Science and Technology Index.
- Allen Press (ATP Journals).
- Provides browsing and keyword access to journals published by Allen Press. Article abstracts are available.

- Encyclopedia of Foods: A Guide to Healthy Nutrition. 2002. (Ref. TX 349 E475 2002)
- A beautifully illustrated volume that contains extensive health and nutrition information. Overviews of nutrients, specific foods, and preparing healthy menus are provided. Also, a glossary of terms and a list of readings are
located in the back of the book.

- An A to Z listing of natural foods. Each entry includes an illustration and information about the food's
nutritional value and its folklore. A glossary, list of readings, and an index are also provided.
- Oxford Companion to Food. 1999. (Ref. TX 349 D36 1999)
- Short definitions on any term or concept related to food. This international dictionary defines the origin of the term, describes it, and gives examples of its use.
Handbooks

- A nutritional handbook that contains scientific information about nutrition and health. It focuses on developmental nutrition, diet,
food sensitivities, and principles of nutrition.
- Cambridge World History of Food. 2000. (Ref. TX 355 C255 2000)
- A comprehensive handbook that provides lengthy descriptions and bibliographies of nutrition.
Qualities of staple foods, liquids, and nutrients are contained in Volume 1 and historical, political
and geographical aspects of nutrition are addressed in Volume 2. A dictionary of terms and indexes by
name and subject facilitate the use of this source.

- Analyses of food groups, information about healthy eating, and other nutritional issues are provided in this handbook. Appendices include charts illustrating dietary allowance,

- This handbook is divided into sections dealing with food nutrients, sources, and consumption. The final section relates to nutritional management of diseases and disorders.
