Formerly Education Abstracts. A major index updated monthly that analyzes over 550 English language periodicals, yearbooks, and monographs. Available in print format (L 11 C8) from 1929 to 1995.


ProQuest Dissertations and Theses 1861- (ProQuest)
Contains abstracts of doctoral dissertations completed in U.S. and foreign colleges and universities. Print version (Z 5055 U5 A53) through 1990 is located in the periodicals collection on the 2nd floor of the Pace Library.


ProQuest Education Journals 1988- (ProQuest)
Provides full text access to journal articles and a link to dissertations in Education.


PsycARTICLES. 1988- (American Psychological Association)
Contains full-text articles from 49 peer-reviewed journals published by the American Psychological Assn. and allied organizations. Covers general psychology and specialized basic, applied, clinical, and theoretical research in psychology.


PsycINFO. (ProQuest) 1887-
Contains abstracts of journal articles, books, book chapters, and doctoral dissertations about various psychological subjects and conditions including many related to the field of education. Database contains a thesaurus.


Wilson Omnifile Full Text. 1982- (WilsonWeb)
Full-text of journal articles from hundreds of publications, including Education titles, can be retrieved from library computers and from remote locations. Includes U. S. and international professional publications, academic journals, and trade magazines.

This group includes graduate students, university professors working outside their areas of expertise, and elementary and secondary teachers seeking a body of knowledge about teaching practices. Handbook of Research on Teaching. 2001. (Pace Ref LB 1028 H315 2001)
A project of the American Educational Research Association, this work contains five parts: Theory and Method of Research on Teaching; Research on Teaching and Teachers; Social and Institutional Context of Teaching; Adapting Teaching to Differences Among Learners; and Research on the Teaching of Subjects and Grade Levels. Research on teaching in some specific subject areas may be found in Handbook of Research on the Education of Young Children (Pace & FWB Ref LB 1119 H25 1993) and in Handbook of Research on Teaching the English Language Arts (NetLibrary and Pace Ref LB 1576 H234 2003).

The Teacher's Guide to Winning Grants. 1999. (Pace Ref LC 243 A1 B37 1999)
A Jossey-Bass handbook devoted to educational fund raising. Contains information on grants, scholarships, and fellowships and offers advice on proposal writing.

The congressionally mandated National Center for Educational Statistics is the primary organization that collects, collates, analyzes, and reports statistics on american education. NCES's comprehensive and well-organized site is an excellent source for current national and international education statistics for undergraduates, graduate students, and educational research, policy, and practicing professionals.


World Education Report. 1995. (Pace Ref L 10 W67 1995)
A UNESCO publication containing statistical information on education from primary through higher education.

Professional Education: Study Guide for the Florida Teacher Certification Examination. 1999. (Pace Reserve Room LB 1772 F6 P76 1999)
Designed to help candidates taking the Professional Education Test of the Florida Teacher Certification Examination (required since 1980) to prepare effectively for the test. Its purpose is to familiarize prospective teachers with content of the test and the type of test items used.
