Company Stock Analysis

Useful source in identifying securities that no longer exist due to mergers, name changes, reorganizations or closures. See also Mergent Company Archives Manual (Ref. This database, formerly known as Dow Jones, is available in the UWF library. It offers full financial data as well as the ability to compare companies with other companies and industries. The Company Quick Search feature can be used to get to financial information.


Hoovers' Handbooks... (various locations in UWF Reference shelves)

The handbooks offer convenient overview type data for each company. The Hoover internet sites allow the user to search by several variable to locate specific securities to match the requirements of the search.


Mergent Online
This database includes up to ten years of company stock data that can be customized and downloaded to spreadsheets.


Mergent's Dividend Achievers. Annual. (Ref. HG 4050 M66)
The 2002 edition identifies and profiles 282 companies that have increased their cash dividends for at least 10 consecutive years ending in 2001.


Moody's (Mergent) Manuals on Microfiche. 1909-present. (Ref. Microfiche 1st Floor)
This microfiche collection is retained in the UWF Library for historical information and statistics for thousands of companies, utilities, municipalities and governments in the U.S. and around the world. The series includes Bank and Finance, Dividend Record, Industry Review, International News Reports, Municipal and Government, Transportation, and OTC Industrial. NetAdvantage
This online service includes all stock publications from Standard & Poor such as: Bond Guide, Corporation Records, Dividend Record, Earnings Guide, Industry Surveys, The Outlook, Register of Corporations, Directors and Executives, Stock Guide, and Stock Reports. The Bond Guide (Ref. HG 4921 B6) and the Stock Guide (Ref. HG 4921 S8) are retained in Reference.


Value Line Investment Survey. (Ref. Desk HG 4501 V26) & Emerald Coast Library, and  ValueLine
This popular investment service provides statistics on 1700 companies and nearly 100 industries. Reports include ten years of statistical data as well as 3-5 year future estimates. In the UWF Library, users can access the database by requesting that the Reference Librarian sign them in.


Walker's Manual of Unlisted Stocks. 1996. (Ref. HG 4501 W25)
Provides data on smaller companies in the OTC market. See also Walker's Manual of Penny Stocks (Ref. HG 6042 W34 1999).


Zack's Investment Research
