Its subtitle is the "Bibliography for the Study of the European Middle Ages (A.D.450-1500)."

The Encyclopedia Mythica

This online encyclopedia contains over 6000 definitions in the areas of mythology, folklore and bestiary. Interesting to note, is the online encyclopedia has been available since 1995.


Encyclopedia of Literary Epics. 1996. (Ref. PN 56 E65 J33 1996b)
This volume is a companion to the Encyclopedia of Traditional Epics with a focus on the written epic. It also includes "biographical data about the epics' authors as well as definitions of certain poetical forms used frequently in specific regions of the world."

Alphabetically arranged, this volume lists characters from oral performance and written traditions. It also defines and examines major themes of the genre. Appendices include epics listed by geographic region, chronology and subgenre.

In coordination with the University of Rochester and Western Michigan University, TEAMS-The Middle English Text Series provides full-text access to less heavily anthologized literary writings for students and researchers.
