Features of the Reserve Collection

The reserve collection contains items that have greater circulation restrictions than materials in the main library book stacks. Types of reserve materials include DVDs, videos, audio materials (e.g., books-on-CD and tape), resources that are in high demand (e.g., test preparation guides like the GRE study guides), and materials with multi-media components. Headphones as well as tape recorders are also available for checkout.

Course Reserve

In addition, materials assigned by faculty for specific class use are placed in the course reserve collection. Course reserve materials include print and/or online articles, personal and library copies of books, videos, DVDs and audio CDs and cassettes.

Information about accessing these materials is provided for students. Procedures and guidelines for submitting course reserve materials are available for faculty.

Accessing the Reserve Collection

Permanent and demand reserve materials can be searched by author, title, subject, and keyword in the UWF Library Catalog.

Course reserve materials are listed by instructor's name and/or course number in the course reserve component of the online catalog.

A valid Nautilus Card or Access Number is required to access the course reserve database from outside the library. Many course reserve items are available electronically and may be viewed by clicking on the item's provided link.
