UWF faculty, students and staff may request that an item which is currently checked out be recalled and placed on hold. (Unless needed for course reserve, all patrons have exclusive rights to an item for 28 days. After those 28 days have passed, another UWF patron may request the item).
You may place a request for an item through the title's holdings display in the Library Catalog as shown below.

In the above example please notice that The Peabody Sisters is checked out and due on December 10, 2007. If you wish to recall this book, simply click on the Place a Hold link to the right of the item information. This utility requires that you sign-in with your Nautilus Card or Library Access Number (if you have not already done so). You will be presented with the screen below:

| Verification: | For all users. A new four digit number composed of your birth month and birth date. For example, if you were born on January 15, your verification number is 0115. |
Once you have signed in, select the library (from the drop down menu) where you will pick up the material. Then click on “Place Request”.

A note will indicate that your request has been successfully completed. Once the items is returned to the library, you will receive an email indicating the item you requested is available for pick up.

You can check the status of any recall requests that you have submitted by accessing the “my account” option on the Library Catalog and clicking on the “view holds” link.
