Interlibrary loan request forms are only available in electronic format from the UWF Library's website under Online Forms and the ILL Online Services Page.
The ILL Online Services is an automated system that permits you to request books, chapters of books and articles. It also allows you to check the status of your requests, request renewals, and/or contact the ILL staff. Once you log in (using your valid Nautilus Card or appropriate ID number) and complete your profile, your personal loan information will automatically be entered into all future requests.
Each ILL request is sent to a lending library, the process takes approximately two working-days. After this period, you may log in and track your request, and find out the expected date of arrival, etc.

The Interlibrary Loan staff makes every effort to fill each Interlibrary Loan request efficiently. You can assist this process by including the complete bibliographic information, especially the source or database where you located the information, and the ISSN or ISBN numbers.
PLEASE NOTE: Multiple requests from one patron may be limited to a maximum of five per day.

It usually takes a minimum of two weeks to receive the material ordered through interlibrary loan. But note that during peak season (between mid-terms and final exams) it can take up to three to four weeks. Within the online form, please indicate the date you will no longer need an item. Rush items, for articles and book chapters, usually take 3 to 4 working days.

We will notify you via email (we only recognize university email addresses) when your materials arrive. You may also track the status of your requests by going into your personal account within the ILL Online Services.

Frequently a library will not loan an item you have requested because it is missing from the shelf, it may be checked out, it is at the bindery, it is too valuable or is a heavy-use title. Additionally, some libraries do not allow loans of certain types of material, such as required textbooks for classes, software, audio/visual material, rare, reserve, reference books, and other non-circulating materials. Whenever possible, the ILL staff will try to request your material from at least five different libraries, before your request is unfilled.

Required textbooks for use in classes are not available from Interlibrary Loan (National Interlibrary Loan Code, 1993). Textbooks are available for purchase from the UWF Bookstore.

Interlibrary Loan materials may be picked up and returned at the Reference/Information Desk on the first floor of the John C. Pace Library or at the Circulation Desk in the Emerald Coast Campus Library. Please bring your Nautilus Card to identify yourself. You will also need your Nautilus Card to pay for any Interlibrary Loan charges.
Before you leave the building, ILL books should be desensitized at the Circulation Desk. The due date is indicated on the ILL slip found attached to the cover of the book, and also in your ILL Online Service account (under Check the Status of your ILL Requests).
Books are held at the Reference Desk until due date, while articles and book chapters are held for only 14 days.

Some books may be renewed, as indicated in the white form attached to the
book you received.
To request a renewal: (1) log in to your ILL Online Services account,
(2) select the Check the status of your ILL requests and request renewals,
(3) find the item you would like to renew, (4) check the renewal box, and then
(5) click the Send Renewal Requests button at the end of the list. The renewal
box is available up to 3 days before the due date.
At times, a request for renewal is denied by the lending library, and the book must be returned by the due date to the Reference Desk. Renewals are not possible after due date.
Some materials, like microforms, are designated by the lending library for use in the library building only.

Copyright Law of the United States (Title 17, U.S. Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research. If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use," that user may be liable for copyright infringement. |
This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.

It may be that the item you want is owned by UWF Libraries, but it is unavailable.
Unless a book is listed missing or lost, it may not be borrowed through interlibrary loan. To do so would violate the interlibrary loan network agreements with other libraries.
