Public computers, allowing patrons access to the Internet, which includes the UWF Library Catalog and online databases and production software (Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe), are available on the first, second, third, and fourth floors of the main library.
Self-service PCs with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software are provided in the Special Needs Room on the first floor of the main library.
Also contained in the Special Needs Room are computers and equipment adapted for individuals with disabilities including a Spectrum "Optelec," a personal computer, and a Braille printer. The Spectrum "Optelec" enlarges text and changes the color and contrast of letters from printed pages. Installed on the personal computer is JAWS, a program that reads screens aloud; Zoom Text, which enlarges text; and Duxbury, which translates typed words into Braille. A Braille printer is attached to the personal computer. Other services provided to individuals with Special Needs are available.

In House Laptop computers and wireless cards may be checked out by UWF faculty, students, and staff for 6 hours. These Laptops may not leave the library at any time. . Laptops may be checked out at the Circulation Desk and they are equipped with Microsoft Office Suite, SPSS, and SASS Software's. Selected laptops are also available for on or off campus classroom use by faculty, staff, and students with a sponsor. See Classroom Technology Equipment Checkout for more information

Classroom Technology Equipment may be checked out by UWF faculty and students (with faculty permission) for UWF related business (on or off campus). Equipment may be checked out at the Circulation Desk. Faculty and staff should use the Equipment Checkout Request Form. Requests by students require a Request Authorization Form signed by the instructor. On-site and telephone support for classroom technology is provided by the ITS Help Desk at 474-2075.

Computers on the first and second floors, including those in the Special Needs Room, are linked to a laser printer located at the Reference Desk. UWF students may use their Argonet Accounts to receive free printouts (500 per semester for undergraduates and 1000 for graduate students). Otherwise, printouts are 5¢ per page.
Color printouts are available at the Reference Desk for 20¢ per page.
