UWF Libraries offers services and equipment for students with special needs. Service desks at all UWF Libraries can provide assistance with researching, retrieving, and copying materials.

The John C. Pace Library has the Special Needs Room on its first floor that contains the following equipment:

• A Spectrum "Optelec" enlarges text and changes the color and contrast of letters from printed pages.


• A personal computer with specialized software such as JAWS (reads screens aloud), Zoom Text (enlarges text), and Duxbury (translates typed words into Braille).


• A Braille printer attached to the personal computer.
