Reserve Materials
 |
Course reserve materials may come from the Emerald Coast Campus Library, the parent campuses of UWF and NWFSC, or from professors.
Course reserve materials specific to the Emerald Coast Campus Library are not listed in the online Course Reserves catalog. |
Emerald Coast Library Policies
In order to accommodate the unique nature of the Emerald Coast Library, there are some variations in loan policies and procedures
from the John C. Pace Library. Overdue fines and bills for lost or damaged materials are handled the same way. Fines can be paid at the Cashiers
Office in Building 1 on the branch campus, or by mail.
|
 |
Only six items at a time may be checked out from the Emerald Coast Campus Library. Items checked out from the Emerald Coast Campus Library may be
returned or renewed at either campus. Books checked out from the parent campus may be returned or renewed at the Emerald Coast Campus
Library. Online renewal is also available.
Photocopy Services
 |
Photocopiers and a transparency maker are available in the Emerald Coast Campus Library. |
Library Instruction
Instruction is provided in a one-on-one setting in a variety of formats -- print titles, specialized computer databases, microforms,
and the online catalog. Bibliographies and point-of-use instructions are compiled and made available to assist users with the Emerald Coast Campus Library materials.
Library Research Classes are also offered. Each hour-long lecture and demonstration is designed to familiarize students with the library's collections, services, and policies. Each session provides an introduction to locating research materials in the library and in our online databases and electronic journals. The classes are open to all interested library users without prior registration on a first-come, first-served basis.
Students may attend one or more of the 27 sessions scheduled in August and September at four different Emerald Coast locations. |
 |
Faculty may arrange for the Emerald Coast Campus Librarian to teach library instruction classes. The classes will be taught according to the specific course requirements. The librarian will meet with the faculty member to define teaching objectives.
Getting Materials from Other Libraries
Materials not owned by the Emerald Coast Library may be requested by UWF students through Interlibrary Loan or Intercampus Loan.
Northwest Florida State College students may request these materials using the Learning Resources Center's Interlibrary Loan Request form. If you want your materials to be delivered to the Emerald Coast Library, be sure to specify "FWB Campus Library" as your preferred pick-up location on the form.
Donating Materials
 |
The Emerald Coast Campus Library accepts books and other materials as gifts. Items not meeting the Emerald Coast Campus Library's Collection Development
Guidelines will be forwarded to the main library for retention or disposition as deemed appropriate by the Acquisitions Librarian. |
