On Thursday – Friday, Nov. 8-9, the John C. Pace Library will hold a special book sale. Hours will be Thursday, 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. and Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. What’s the occasion? Well, the library has received a LOT of donations this year so we decided to hold a special November book sale in addition to our regular annual book sale next spring. All UWF students, faculty, and staff, and everyone from our outside community, are invited to come, browse, buy, and enjoy! Prices will be low as always, and we are selling hardcover and paperback books, magazines, videos, and CDs. The largest subject areas are fiction / literature and history, plus other academic areas. Other notable areas are cookbooks, books on gardening, sports books, children’s books, and a section of sets and specially priced books. Truly there is something for everyone. For further information call 474-2449 or 857-6158 or email dnorth@uwf.edu.

The University of West Florida Libraries 40th Anniversary Virtual Exhibit celebrates the riches of photographs, memorabilia and various historical material selected from the University of West Florida Archives and Special Collections. Various external university collections housed at UWF and the University of West Florida Special Collections and Archives were also utilized to present this thematic visual online history. We invite you to add your memories and reflections on UWF’s past and present to make this site an evolving online archive. |
| If you haven’t noticed yet, the libraries have a completely new website and catalog. The website has been completely redesigned with a new information and image architecture and completely new and updated content to better serve our communities needs. To read a little more about the many voices that made this project happen click here. With our new website, the library also has a completely new online catalog - “Endeca” Endeca is a leading edge information access platform which helps our wider community find, analyze and understand the libraries vast resources in ways never before thought possible. | ![]() |
| One of the key features of Endeca is a ‘faceted’ subject searching ability which conceptually analyzes a subject into searchable conceptual subcategories to reveal unexpected relationships, aid interdisciplinary exploration and hopefully find new sources for information discovery and research! Please try out Endeca’s powerful new abilities here and keep your eye on some of these new capabilities - on the left hand bar! To read a little more about Endeca, click here. | ![]() |
This database provides descriptions of collections and detailed inventories for the personal papers, manuscripts, archives, business records, and other research resources of the Special Collections Department, University of West Florida Libraries. Our research resources emphasize materials which cover the history, development, institutions, and people of the West Florida region from earliest settlement to the present, and holdings encompass over 700 individual collections and 1,000,000 items. |

Individual collections are titled by the personal name or organization that created the materials (e.g. Marion T. Gaines Papers or the Wallace Bruce Family Papers or Sacred Heart Hospital Archives). The collection may include manuscripts, correspondence, subject files, photographs, maps, diaries, scrapbooks, audio/video materials, and other items, which are arranged into series and folders, with the contents of each folder described. These inventories and overall collection descriptions make up this database.
