The circulating collection may be accessed via the UWF Library Catalog. Circulating materials include books on the third and fourth floors, as well as selected government documents on the first floor. Journals may only be checked out by UWF faculty for limited periods of time.

Classroom Technology Equipment: Laptops, LCD projectors, tape recorders, overhead projectors and other classroom equipment may be checked out for short term use by UWF faculty and students for UWF related business (on or off campus). Equipment may be checked out at the Circulation Desk. Faculty may reserve equipment by completing and submitting an Equipment Request Form. Requests by students require a Request Authorization Form signed by an instructor.
Intercampus Loans: Intercampus Loan provides access for UWF affiliated patrons to those UWF owned materials not currently available at the requestor's primary library, whether this is the John C. Pace Library or the Fort Walton Beach Campus Library. (Intercampus Loan is not to be confused with Interlibrary Loan, which is used for material not owned by UWF Libraries.)

Library Use Equipment:
Laptop computers (equipped with Windows XP and Microsoft Office Suite) and LCD Projectors may be checked out for in library use by
UWF faculty, students and staff for 6 hours. Wireless cards are also available. Priority Cataloging: From the UWF Library Catalog,UWF faculty, staff, and students may request that items identified as "in process" be given priority for cataloging. Follow the instructions on the Rush Processing Requests page. |
Recall: From the UWF Library Catalog,UWF faculty, staff, and students may request that items identified as checked out be recalled for their use. Unless needed for course reserve, all users have exclusive rights to an item for 28 days. After those 28 days have passed, another UWF affiliate may request the item. Follow the instructions on the Recall page.
Renewal: From the UWF Library Catalog, online renewal of library materials may be conducted by patrons, within guidelines stated in the loans policy, from computers with access to the Internet. Follow the instructions on the "Renewing Library Materials" page.
Study Carrels: Faculty and graduate students may apply for semester long study carrel privileges. Other study carrels are available for daily use by faculty, students and staff. Study carrels are located on the third and fourth floors of the library. Some carrels are equipped with data ports and computers. Complete this form to request a semester carrel..

UWF faculty, staff, and students use their Nautilus Cards to check out library materials. UWF distance learners may request a free library access number if they are not planning to visit the campus. Community residents who are not directly affiliated with UWF may apply for a free library card at the Circulation Desk. |

The number of items that may be checked out depends on the category of the patron and the type of material. For example, only UWF faculty may borrow journals. Consult the loan policies chart for specific information about patron categories and material types.

The library protects the confidentiality of borrowers, as required by law. Staff may neither disclose the name of a patron who has materials checked out nor which materials a patron has checked out.

Overdue fines are 25¢ per item per day. Additional fines may be charged for overdue items that have been recalled. Replacement costs are usually $51.15 per lost book. If it is more cost effective, patrons may purchase a replacement copy of the lost book as long as it is the same edition and in the same format.
Information about Fine Policies and a Library Fines Appeal Form are available to library patrons.
Questions related to library bills and fines are handled at the Circulation Desk. Payments are made by mail or in person at the Cashier's Office, Building 20.
